چکیده
In this study, we investigated the ability of N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) to alleviate metabolic disorders in fructose-induced syndrome (MS) male rats and examine its protective effect on aortic cardiac tissues via influence cardiotrophin-1 (CT-1) expression. NAC (20 mg/kg b.w./day) was administered fructose induced MS animals for 12 weeks. Chronic consumption (20% w/v) increased body weight gain, relative heart weight, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic (DBP), insulin resistance (IR), associated with alterations. Histological immunohistochemical examination revealed stiffness myocardial degeneration fibrosis together CT-1 Treatment improved IR, SBP, DBP, mitigated dyslipidaemia oxidative stress. Additionally, down-regulated expression aorta. These findings demonstrated against through down-regulation animal model.

Protective effect of curcumin in fructose-induced metabolic syndrome and in streptozotocin-induced diabetes in rats
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of pre-treatment with curcumin on metabolic changes induced by two different pathophysiological mechanisms in rats (fructose diet and streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes mellitus). Materials and Methods: Five groups with 10 rats per group were investigated: control group (healthy rats), fructose diet groups without any pre-treatme...
متن کاملDiet-induced metabolic syndrome model in rats
Background & Objective: Risk for heart disease, diabetes, and stroke increases with the number of the metabolic risk factors. In general, a person who has the metabolic syndrome is twice as likely to develop heart disease and five times as likely to develop diabetes as someone who does not have the metabolic syndrome. High-calorie-diet rodent models have contributed significantly to the analysi...
متن کاملEffects of N-acetyl-L-cysteine on Postoperative Intrabdominal Adhesion in a Large Animal Model
Objective- Mechanisms that decrease oxidative stress and enhance peritoneal fibrinolysis reduce adhesions. N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) is an antioxidant whose effect on peritoneal fibrinolysis in large animal model has not been established. The aims of this study were to investigate the ability of NAC to decreased adhesion in stablished model of serosal trauma in sheep. Design- Expe...
متن کاملEffects of febuxostat on metabolic and renal alterations in rats with fructose-induced metabolic syndrome.
Increased fructose consumption is associated with hyperuricemia, metabolic syndrome, and renal damage. This study evaluated whether febuxostat (Fx), an investigational nonpurine, and selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor, could alleviate the features of metabolic syndrome as well as the renal hemodynamic alterations and afferent arteriolopathy induced by a high-fructose diet in rats. Two groups ...
